This Little Thing's (working out ok)
This little thing’s workin’ out ok
Just you and me, our 3 cats, the dog
We could be side swiped tomorrow
Or we’ll Eureka, who’s to say
We’re not going to tip-toe around
Or get misaligned by the fog
If we slip, we slip together
That’s how we do it
And when all is said and done
We’ll grab some waves, we’ll catch some waves
We can be cold in the ground or warm in the sun
We’re making waves, we’re riding waves
We’ve got the latest They Might Be
Giants to listen to
And Courtney Barnett
Dance real slow to love songs by
John Price and drink ourselves into obliteration
And when all is said and done
We’ll grab some waves, we’ll catch some waves
Whether we’re warm in the ground or cold in the sun
We’re making waves, we’re riding waves
This little thing’s turning out ok
You and me, 3 cats, the dog
Maybe we’ll wise up, maybe not
Who’s to say

Running With a Pack of Wolves
Marching up the mountain, you and me, you and me
At the end of that ledge is the start of the sea
On our shadow Loba coming up behind us
With her sweet black colors that tend to bind us
Where do we go? Who cares?
Mainline our kisses at the top of the stairs
We feel alive this moment trips reality
At night when I sleep
I dream I’m running with a pack of wolves
I wanna run with a pack of wolves
When I wake I weep
I need to run with a pack of wolves
I gotta run with a pack of wolves
He rushes inside and slams the door against humanity
Says, “don’t go out there, it’s just insanity, somehow we don’t belong”
I stop him and put my hands upon his face and say,
“Don’t worry, I think I’ve found a place that’s far from here and we can be strong”
Join me in my dreams, we’ll run with a pack of wolves
We’re gonna run with a pack of wolves
The full moon through the trees
We’ll run with a pack of wolves
We’re gonna run with a pack of wolves

Stupid Covid

Stupid Covid
Stupid Covid, I hate thee
Thy measure is strong
Try as we try to deflate thee
We’ve got it all wrong
Who knew, who knew what time won’t reveal?
Who hears our pleas to hasten the deal?
The foreseen rejection
The calling infection
Do we face it?
Can we stand it?
If not now then when?
If not now, when?
Stupid Covid, the truth is we’re not reconciled
We stare into your vastness and we are beguiled
Who knew, who knew in your quiet way
You’d make us say what we try not to say?
The foreseen rejection
The calling infection
Do we face it?
Can we stand it?
If not now then when?
If not now when?

I Miss My Public Library

I Miss My Public Library
I miss my Public Library, it’s been closed for awhile now
I’d like to slip in one of these nights and go through the stacks
But I don’t know how
It’s not much to look at, my neighbors and I all know that
You stand in line, you get in free
At my local Public Library
And if a book doesn’t make you smile, there’s magic behind every door
Like puzzles for 2 quarters or the movie you’ve been waiting for
Music, art and all the things that make a life worth living
I miss the chance to browse and breathe
I miss my public library
Any day now I’ll get the news the library is open again
I’ll holler to my friends, kiss the cats
Jump on my bike and ride like the wind
And I’ll return to that special place
That puts a “hush” upon my face
And the folks working there are cool as can be
At my local Public Library
